True North Wine Merchants was founded by wine industry veteran Sara Beer. Most recently, Sara spent 13 years developing California wholesale sales at Duckhorn Wine Company, leading a diverse sales team representing 6 wineries. During her tenure, the Duckhorn portfolio became the most successful winery-direct wholesale sales model in the California luxury wine industry.
Raised in the United States by European parents, Sara discovered her passion for food, wine, and travel early in life. She has spent her career in fine wine, gourmet food, and hospitality, and particularly enjoys selling wine to California restaurants and fine wine retail shops.
JONAH
BEER
Sara is joined by her husband Jonah Beer a 25-year veteran of the US fine-wine business. Most recently, and for nearly two decades, Jonah was the General Manager and Vice President of Frog’s Leap in the Napa Valley. Primarily tasked with developing and overseeing the national footprint of the winery, his time at both Frog—and Stag’s Leap before that—has yielded deep relationships throughout the vast (and complex) distributor network that crisscrosses the nation.
Just like his wife, he is a devotee and student of Burgundy, Piedmont, Oregon and classic Napa Cabs.
